Crinan Hotel Christmas Party Menu
The Crinan Hotel now has a selection of over 50 different malt whiskies for you to sample.
While you are staying with us, you may wish to visit a distillery to see how whisky is made. There are a variety of options for a day trip to a distillery or even several.
A short drive to Tayvallich gives you access to the fast RIB ferry service to Jura which takes less than an hour. The Jura Distillery is open throughout the year (except Sundays in summer and Saturdays and Sundays in winter). Visit their website for more information.
Around an hour's drive north from Crinan, the distillery is in the middle of Oban which is our biggest local town. Oban also offers a wide variety of places to eat and a slection of shops as well. You can see opening times for the Distillery Visitor Centre and times of tours on their website.
If you head south you can drive to Campbeltown in around an hour and a half. Once an important distilling centre with over 30 distilleries, the only town at the south end of the Mull of Kintyre is now home to Springbank and just a couple of others. Dates and times for tours of one or more of the distilleries can be found on their website.
The small island of Islay has around a dozen different distilleries including Laphroaig, Lagavulin, Bowmore and Bruichladdich to name just a few. Islay is a destination few whisky connoisseurs would wish to miss the chance of visiting. More information about the distilleries can be found on the Islay Info website. Crinan Hotel Reception staff will be pleased to organise a taxi to take you over on the ferry from West Loch Tarbert so you can spend a day exploring some of the distilleries on the island (please give a few days warning as a taxi for a day would need to be booked in advance).
On your return to Crinan, you may wish to explore the range of flavours offered by the Crinan Hotel's wide selection of whiskies. You can relax in The General's Bar where our full range of whiskies is on display, or you can find a comfortable spot in front of the fire in one of the lounges.
