This area of Scotland, Argyll, has an abundance of visitor attractions for all sorts of visitors.
Whether you are a couple, a family, a group of friends or a single traveller we are certain you will find plenty to fill your time in Arygll.
Apart from the sweeping panoramas and views over the lochs and the dramatic landscapes, and the fascinating Crinan Canal, there are some unmissable visitor attractions close to the Crinan Hotel.
The Visitor Information and Wildlife Interpretation Centre run by the Heart of Argyll Wildlife Organisation is less than 10 minutes from the Hotel by car and well worth a visit. And just along the road from them, there is well presented information and plenty of physical evidence of the presence of the Knapdale Beavers.
Wonderful botanical displays at Arduane Gardens and Crarae Gardens both within an hour's drive. If it's castles you are looking for then consider a trip to Inveraray Castle, Carnasserie Castle, or Castle Sween. While at Inveraray don't miss the imaginative Inveraray Jail Experience (www.inverarayjail.co.uk).
The village of Kilmartin is easy to get to from Crinan. Close to the village of Kilmartin you will find prehistoric sites, standing stones and rock carvings as well as two stone circles and several large burial cairns.
Elsewhere and still within an hours drive are many small villages, craft workshops and galleries, famous Scottish landmarks as well as a host of nature reserves and forest walks. Local guides will help you discover so much about Argyll and this part of Scotland. if you're lucky you'll spot otters, seals, eagles and more.
